What the business is
Adams Arboriculture is an arboricultural consultancy. It assesses trees, reports on them, advises on development and council requirements, and acts as project arborist through construction.
It is not a tree service. No removals, no lopping, no general pruning contracting, no stump grinding, no landscaping. That is a deliberate boundary rather than a gap in the offering, and it is the reason the advice can be taken at face value: Adam has no financial interest in the work a report recommends.
What a client is buying is not really a document. It is understanding the issue well enough to make an informed decision, and arriving at something practical and workable at the end of it.
Independent advice. Practical solutions. Confident decisions.
Twenty years, and the first half of it up a tree
Adam has around twenty years in arboriculture, roughly five to six of those in consulting specifically. Both figures are approximate.
The earlier part of that career was practical: climbing, pruning, removals, and running crews — scheduling work, managing people, and dealing with the gap between what a job is supposed to be and what the site actually presents on the day.
That background is part of the positioning rather than a footnote to it. A recommendation written by someone who has done the physical work tends to be one a site can implement. The opposite — technically correct advice that cannot practically be followed — gets quietly ignored in the second week of a build, which helps nobody and protects no trees.

Who he works with
Developers, architects and builders make up most of the commercial work, and the pattern that suits everyone best is an engagement that starts before the design is fixed and continues through construction to completion.
Beyond that: residential property owners with a tree they are unsure about, councils, schools, and other project consultants who need arboricultural input on something they are running.
- DevelopersThe approval pathway, what the trees mean for yield, and the conditions that follow.
- Architects and designersConstraints and opportunities while the layout can still move.
- BuildersWhat can and cannot happen inside the fence, and who to call before digging.
- Property ownersOne tree, a straight answer, and no stake in what happens next.
Where he works
Brisbane is the core market. The service area runs north to about Noosa, south to about Helensvale and west to about Ipswich, and travel further afield is considered for suitable projects.
Adam advises on vegetation approvals across seven South East Queensland councils, each of which protects vegetation under a different instrument. Some protected-vegetation questions can be answered from an address and council mapping without attending the property at all.
