Send Adam the address and he will take it from there.

For many protected vegetation questions the property address is enough to start checking. Call if it is easier — plenty of consultations begin as a conversation rather than a report.

What helps

What to send, and what happens next

The more specific the first message, the fewer rounds it takes. If a council, a certifier or a builder has asked you for something in writing, send that wording across exactly as you received it — the document they named determines what actually needs preparing.

If the question is about a tree rather than an approval, describe what changed and when. Photographs are genuinely useful, and they can follow later.

Not every enquiry needs a site visit, and not every enquiry needs a report. Where a desktop check answers the question, Adam will tell you that rather than quoting for work you do not need.

  • The property addressOften enough on its own to check whether vegetation is protected and under which instrument.
  • The exact wording you were givenA council condition, a permit, a certifier request. The document it names decides the rest.
  • What stage the project is atConcept, pre-DA, approved, or already under construction. Early is cheaper.
  • Photographs, if it is about a treeThe whole tree, the base, and whatever prompted the call. They can come later.
  • Your timeframeWhether something is lodging next week changes what is worth doing first.

  • Not always. Some protected vegetation questions can be answered from the address and council mapping alone. Where a report is required an inspection is needed, because the measurements have to be taken on site rather than estimated.

  • Brisbane is the core market, with the service area running north to about Noosa, south to about Helensvale and west to about Ipswich. He advises on vegetation approvals across seven South East Queensland councils. Travel further afield is considered for suitable projects.

  • Yes, and often that is the fastest route. Many consultations start as a conversation and stay that way — a formal written report follows only where the situation actually requires one.

  • Send the wording through as it was written. Conditions, permits and certifier requests name specific documents — an Arboricultural Impact Assessment, a Tree Management Plan, a Declaration of Compliance — and they are not interchangeable. Reading what was actually asked for is the first job.

  • No. Adams Arboriculture is a consultancy, not a tree contractor. Adam carries out specialist work that belongs to the consulting role — root pruning, root investigations, supervision, plant healthcare treatments — but not general removals, lopping or maintenance. That separation is the point: he has nothing to gain from the work a report recommends.
