Service areas · South East Queensland
Where Adam works, drawn honestly.
Seven areas across South East Queensland — north to about Noosa, south to about Helensvale, west to about Ipswich. Each falls under a different council protecting vegetation under a different instrument, which is why there is a page for each.

Send the property address
The address settles both questions at once — whether it is inside the service area, and which council determines it.

The service area
Two different shapes, drawn separately
The area Adam travels and the seven council areas he advises on are not the same shape, and conflating them would overstate the coverage. The travel bounds run north to about Noosa, south to about Helensvale and west to about Ipswich. Two of the seven councils — Sunshine Coast and City of Gold Coast — extend well past that line.
So the map draws both. The shaded area is where Adam ordinarily travels. The pins are the councils advised on. Where a council reaches past the boundary, the pages say so rather than quietly implying the whole local government area is covered.
Work outside the bounds is considered for suitable projects rather than assumed. If a property sits near the edge, the address is the fastest way to settle it — that is a short conversation, not a quote.
- North to about NoosaNoosa Shire is a separate council and is not one of the seven.
- South to about HelensvaleThe northern Gold Coast. City of Gold Coast extends a long way further south.
- West to about IpswichIncluding the Springfield and Ripley growth corridor.
- East to the bayIncluding the Redlands foreshore. The bay islands are ferry or barge access.
- Beyond those boundsConsidered for suitable projects. Ask rather than assume, in either direction.

How it runs
The address settles most of it
Two questions get answered before anything is commissioned: is the property inside the service area, and which council determines what happens on it.
- 01
Where the property sits
Whether it is inside the ordinary travel bounds, and if it is near the edge, whether the project suits a trip out. That is a straight answer rather than a negotiation.
- 02
Which council determines it
Seven councils, seven instruments, seven different names for the approval. Which one applies follows from the address, and it changes what the report has to be called before any assessment starts.
- 03
Whether the vegetation is protected at all
A desktop check against council mapping and records, which frequently does not require a site visit. A good share of enquiries end here — and ending here is a better outcome than a report nobody needed.
- 04
The engagement, if there is one
Site visit, measurements recorded rather than estimated, the document prepared to the requirement that applies, and lodgement or certification where those are part of it.

Common questions
About the service area
North to about Noosa, south to about Helensvale, west to about Ipswich, east to the bay. That is the ordinary service area. Projects outside it are considered on their merits rather than ruled in or out in advance.
Send the address and it will be answered directly. Edge cases are common and the boundary is described as "about" for a reason — it reflects where travel is practical rather than a line on a title.
The service area runs to about Noosa, and Noosa Shire is a separate council to Sunshine Coast Council rather than part of it. Work at or beyond that line is considered for suitable projects.
No. The service area runs south to about Helensvale, so the coverage is the northern Gold Coast rather than the city as a whole. City of Gold Coast as a council area extends a long way further south than Adam ordinarily travels.
The first check often can — whether vegetation at an address is protected, and under what, is a mapping and records question. Anything that turns on the condition of the tree itself requires an inspection, because measurements are recorded rather than estimated.
